Long admired for being one of the whitest precious metals, silver has been crafted into a variety of household items for centuries. Its antibacterial and aseptic properties make silver a luxurious choice for sterile items, such as flatware. From the mid 1800’s to the mid 1900’s, sterling silver flatware became a must have for a formal dining experience, with some sets containing up to 100 pieces.

This bullion coin comes only in 1 troy ounce size and has a face value of one dollar. The reverse of this coin featured John Mercanti’s heraldic eagle and shield design until 2022 when the new design of a bald eagle landing on a branch by Emily Damstra was adopted.
Introduced in 1982 for investors as the first annual-release silver bullion coin, this round depicts the traditional elements of the Winged Victory, a symbol of Mexican Independence, on the reverse and the Mexican coat of arms on the obverse, but the actual design was updated a few times throughout the years. This coin was so popular with investors that as many as 2.458 million were struck during its highest production year.
